Coding,Robotics & Innovation: Ages12-16
. Build smarter. Code deeper. Think like an engineer!
Service Description
This exciting hands-on program introduces students to real-world coding, electronics, sensors, and robotics using the powerful BBC Micro:bit. From lighting up LEDs to building wireless messaging systems and navigating small robots, learners gradually develop the skills needed to think like programmers, engineers, and digital creators. Each module builds on the last, giving students a strong foundation in hardware, software, problem-solving, and creativity. Students begin with Micro:bit Boot Camp, where they explore buttons, LEDs, ports, and external components while creating fun displays, sound effects, and simple interactive programs. Next, they dive into coding foundations—loops, variables, math, logic, and conditionals—learning how computers make decisions and respond to inputs. In the sensors module, students collect real-world data using light, temperature, accelerometers, and a digital compass to build alarms, counters, and smart gadgets. The course then expands into wireless communication, allowing students to send messages, broadcast emojis, build walkie-talkies, and even create multiplayer radio games. Robotics brings everything together as learners attach motors, build mini vehicles, control servos, and navigate basic mazes. Finally, students design their own innovation project—anything from a weather station to a step tracker, alarm system, or wireless chat device—and present their creation. 🌟 By the end of the course, students will be able to: • Code with MakeCode using loops, variables, math, and logic • Use Micro:bit inputs, outputs, LEDs, and buttons confidently • Collect and analyze sensor data (light, motion, temperature, compass) • Build wireless communication programs using radio messaging • Control servos, motors, and simple Micro:bit-powered robots • Design, test, and present a complete final project
